Lyndsay Shirley, President
My family has enjoyed being a part of the Sharon community since 2012 and my children have flourished during their years at Sharon.
I have served in various volunteer capacities at Sharon including Room Parent, Book Fair Chair and several years as a PTO Executive Board Member serving as VP of Communications and assisting with fundraising. In each capacity, I have enjoyed working with a variety of people and helping the Sharon family continue its legacy of success.
I look forward to a great year serving on the PTO Executive Board for the 2020-2021 school year to continue the success of Sharon PTO as it enhances the educational programs that are offered to our students.
Chris Linville, Treasurer
We moved here two summers ago and feel at home! My husband and I have five children; our youngest, Bentley, will be a 4th grader this year. Our daughter, Addison, is a 8th grader at South.
My past 18 years of PTA/PTO experience is extensive. I've held practically every chair and board position from Box Top coordinator, Immersion Day Chair, Appropriations Committee, Cultural Arts Chair, Ways & Means, Secretary, Parliamentarian to VP (twice), among others! I am very much looking forward to serving this incredible school and involved parents!
Melanie Whipple, Secretary
My husband, Jeff, and I have four children: a 4th grader at Sharon, a 7th grader at South Forsyth Middle, and 9th and 10th graders at Lambert. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was in advertising sales at WTOP News Radio in Washington, DC. We moved to this area in 2005 after our first child was born, and have been part of the Sharon Elementary family for the past nine years. When we aren’t cheering for our kids on the field, the court, or the stage, we love spending time at our “happy place” on Bald Head Island, NC. I’m thankful to be a part of the Sharon community, and I look forward to serving on the PTO board this year!
Pauli Wade, Parliamentarian
My name is Pauli Wade, and this is my third year serving as the Parliamentarian for the PTO. Previously I served as the PTA Treasurer for two years and I enjoy these opportunities to volunteer alongside a group of amazingly dedicated parents and school staff. Two of my 3 children are attending Sharon Elementary this year: Mara (3rd grade), and JT (1st grade). Mac will be in 6th grade at SFMS.
My husband, Chip, and I are the owners of Wade Works Creative, a cross-over Architecture & Design Firm and Real Estate Brokerage. We are both Ramblin' Wrecks from Georgia Tech with a passion for all things home, design, and creative. We never imagined that we would use our education in this capacity, building a business together, but it was just such a natural fit of our complementary skill sets being able to provide a service to homeowners when there was a void in the market place. If we aren’t working, we are hopefully embarking on some outdoor family adventure like hiking, riding ATVs, or bow-fishing.
Jennifer Davis, VP of Fundraising
My name is Jennifer Davis and I am excited to be serving on the board this year! Our family moved to the area in 2015. I graduated from Auburn University and worked for an Outdoor Therapeutic Program for Children for 3 years then moved to Atlanta where I worked in QC for Mortgage Assurance Company until 2015 when I decided to stay home.
My husband Tim graduated from Ole Miss and works for Bank of America Private Bank. We have 2 children at Sharon, Adelyn (5th) and Peyton (2nd). We are so appreciative of the care and love for our kids at Sharon. I have been room mom for 6 years, volunteer in the classroom, and began substitute teaching at Sharon this year. Our family loves taking trips to new places, and cheering on our kids in rock climbing, softball, basketball, and baseball. We are members at Grace Chapel and I volunteer for The Place of Forsyth. Sharon has done so much for our children, and I am happy to give back in this way.
Katie Reeder, VP Communications
My husband Dan and I have four children: Bennett, a 4th grader, Campbell, a 2nd grader, Davis, a kindergartener--all at Sharon--as well as Anna...our feisty, red-headed, three-year-old. I work from home as Director of Public Relations for a communications firm based out of Florida and graduated from Clemson with a comm degree--so wordsmithing is my passion and I love being able to share that with the Sharon community.
I'm a member of the Public Relations Society of America and my family is active at Johns Creek Methodist Church where I've also enjoyed serving in various capacities, including several years leading a group focused on connecting and encouraging moms. When not at home, church or the school, find us at the fields cheering on our favorite rascals.
Prasanna Kannan, VP Academic Affairs
My name is Prasanna Kannan, and I am excited to be serving on the PTO Board this school year. Here's a little about me and my family: we have been Georgia residents for the past thirteen years and moved to Forsyth County last October. My husband and I have a 10-year old daughter, who will be fifth grader this year. My brother lives in Georgia too, so we enjoy living close to family.
On the weekends, I love spending time with my family, going on nature trail walks to stay healthy, gardening in my backyard, and taking pictures to capture the memories of our family together.
I have served on PTO Executive Boards for the last three years, most recently as VP, Enrichment Clubs in Cobb County School District. In this role, I helped manage and organize the after-school enrichment program offerings for Kindergarten through fifth grade with various sponsors. I am a program manager by profession and my contribution and insights to project teams include publishing meeting minutes, organizing project schedules, and keeping teams on track with their actions and deliverables listing.
Our school community thrives because of the tremendous volunteerism from all parents. I am looking forward to meeting Sharon families and getting to know them through volunteer opportunities coming up throughout the school year.
Amy Hubbart, VP Community/Cultural Events
My name is Amy Hubbart, and my husband Jason and I have 3 kids: Ava is 15, Nate is 13, and Grace is 10. We moved to Forsyth in late 2015 after living in Australia for 10 years. In fact, our 2 youngest kids were born there! My husband is a pastor, and we served with the ministry we're a part of there and loved the Aussie lifestyle! As the kids got older though, it became clear that we wanted to be closer to family, so back to the U.S. we came. We love living here, and are so happy to be a part of Sharon Elementary! I'm excited to be a part of the PTO board and really enjoy getting to know other families and community members. In lots of ways, I still feel "new" to the area, so come say hi if you see me at school! I love meeting people and getting to know our awesome Sharon families.
Carrie Goodwin, VP Student/Family Events
Both originally from Florida, my husband, Will and I met at Auburn University and have been married for 19 years. Before having 4 daughters, I worked for 6 years as a Speech Pathologist in the Bartow and Fulton county school systems.
We have 2 kids at South Middle and 2 kids at Sharon. I have enjoyed serving in various classrooms, on the yearbook committee, breakfast with Santa committee, bingo committee, father/daughter dance committee and substitute teaching on occasion. I also serve as an 8th-grade girls transit leader at North Point Community Church.
Khayti Patel, Member At Large
My name is Khyati Patel. My husband Purvesh and I have 2 amazing kids: my daughter Sanjna (15) who is a sophomore at Lambert and my son Kahaan (8) who is in 4th grade at Sharon. We moved to Atlanta two summers ago from Toronto, Canada after being there for the last 15 years. I work full time for a corporate travel management company – BCD Travel. I oversee the North American Customer Care department for my company. Even though we have been in Atlanta only for a year, we absolutely love being here. My kids have always been in private school in Canada so I was very skeptical about moving them to the public school system. However, I am so glad I did. I am extremely impressed by Sharon Elementary and feel Kahaan has grown tremendously in the last year at Sharon. I feel the commitment of the teachers, admin staff and the parents is a key to making Sharon such a great school. Even though I work full time, I wanted to contribute to this amazing organization. I am very excited to be part of the PTO board! I look forward to meeting and getting to know the other Sharon families in the coming year.
