Lisa Smith, President

I am mom to three children at Sharon Elementary; a 5th grader and two 3rd graders. My husband Eric and I moved to Georgia from Illinois in 2015 after visiting and falling in love with the area. I previously served on the PTO Board as Secretary and on the PTA Board as a VP.  Before children, I was a legal consultant and led seminars for Fortune 500 clients across the United States and Canada. I also served as Chief of Staff of the Office of Banks and Real Estate for the State of Illinois and as Assistant Chief Deputy Clerk for the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. When not volunteering at school, I can be found walking our golden retriever Charlie Parker, in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes and with my family exploring international restaurants and grocery stores. I look forward to serving as president this school year and I welcome all parents to volunteer and get involved!

Amy Williams, Treasurer

My name is Amy Williams and I am the current Treasurer for the PTO.  Last year was my first year on the PTO Board and I am looking forward to having the opportunity to serve again this year.

My husband and I have one son, a 5th grader. Our family loves to travel, exercise and spend time at the lake with our sweet rescue dog. We have been a part of Sharon Elementary since Kindergarten.  We feel so fortunate that our son has benefited from this wonderful learning environment.

Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I worked in Radiology.  I was an Area Operations Manager with a territory that included Athens to Johns Creek.  I was in charge of the day to day operations of the facilities, as well as making sure our patients received the best care possible while maintaining relationships with physicians.  I also managed multiple budgets to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.

I am looking forward to the 2018-2019 school year. The PTO supports so many wonderful programs and I am excited to be a part of such an outstanding school and PTO.

Erin Hudson, Secretary

Originally from Texas, I have a background in Early Childhood Education and Literacy and worked in the field of education for 13 years prior to our move to Georgia five years ago with my husband’s job.  My family has enjoyed being a part of the Sharon community and our boys (rising 4thand 7thgrades) have flourished during their years at Sharon.

Since our move in 2013, I have served in various volunteer capacities at Sharon including Room Parent and three years as a PTA Executive Board Member serving as Secretary and President.  In each capacity, I have enjoyed working with a variety of people and helping the Sharon family continue its legacy of success.  With two years of service as PTA Secretary, I was honored to work with an established board with many years of experience and continued to use them for guidance in my year as PTA President.  During my year as President, the board had many successes including fundraising, community events, and the transition from a PTA to a PTO.

I look forward to a great year serving on the PTO Executive Board for the 2018-2019 school year to continue the success of Sharon PTO as it enhances the educational programs that are offered to our students.

Pauli Wade, Parliamentarian

My name is Pauli Wade, and this is my second year serving as the Parliamentarian for the PTO.  Previously I served as the PTA Treasurer for two years and I enjoy these opportunities to volunteer alongside a group of amazingly dedicated parents and school staff.  All three of my children are attending Sharon Elementary this year: Mac (4th grade), Mara (1st grade), and JT (PreK).
My husband, Chip, and I are the owners of Wade Works Creative, a cross-over Architecture & Design Firm and Real Estate Brokerage.  We are both Ramblin' Wrecks from Georgia Tech with a passion for all things home, design, and creative. We never imagined that we would use our education in this capacity, building a business together, but it was just such a natural fit of our complementary skill sets being able to provide a service to homeowners when there was a void in the market place.  If we aren’t working, we are hopefully embarking on some outdoor family adventure like hiking, riding ATVs, or bow-fishing.
Lyndsay Shirley, VP Communications
This is my second year serving as the VP of Communications for the PTO and I am looking forward to another great year.  My husband and I have two children (a 5th grade son and 3rd grade daughter) who both attend Sharon.  We have lived in Cumming for 19 years and love being a part of the Sharon Community!
Prior to being a stay-at-home wife and mother, I was a Senior Systems Analyst and Project Manager for Southern Company. Before I had a position on the PTO Board, I volunteered as Room Parent for my children's classrooms and have been the co-chair for the Book Fair for the past several years.
Amy Hubbart, VP Academic Affairs
My name is Amy Hubbart, and my husband Jason and I have 3 kids: Ava is 14, Nate is 12, and Grace is 9. We moved to Forsyth in late 2015 after living in Australia for 10 years. In fact, our 2 youngest kids were born there! My husband is a pastor, and we served with the ministry we're a part of there and loved the Aussie lifestyle! As the kids got older though, it became clear that we wanted to be closer to family, so back to the U.S. we came. We love living here, and are so happy to be a part of Sharon Elementary! I'm excited to be a part of the PTO board, and really enjoy getting to know other families and community members. In lots of ways, I still feel "new" to the area, so come say hi if you see me at school! I love meeting people and getting to know our awesome Sharon families.
Jen Matthews, VP Student/Family Affairs
I moved to Suwanee in 2014 from Tucker, GA. As a stay at home mom of 4, I enjoy volunteering around Sharon in whatever capacity is needed from book fair to science committee, room parent to helping in any classroom.  My oldest 2 are in 8th and 7th grades at Riverwatch, Go Panthers! My youngest 2 are in 5th and 3rd grades. As the VP of Family and Student Events, I am excited to help the chairs create amazing events for our school. I’ve worked on the PTA/PTO board for the past 2 years and look forward to another exciting year.
Deepa Kharidhi, VP Community/Cultural Events
I have 2 children - one is a 6th grader who graduated from Sharon this past year, and the other is a 2nd grader. We have been in the Atlanta area since 2005. I have an Engineering degree and a Masters in Computer Science. Prior to staying home full time with the kids, I worked in Data Analytics and Product Management. I have been involved in many ways at Sharon since my older daughter started Kindergarten. In addition to helping in both of my children's classes regularly, I have been a room mom, served on the Yearbook Committee for 5 years, volunteered at school events, and served on the PTO Executive Board last year as the VP of Community/Cultural Events. I enjoyed helping to showcase various cultures represented within our school by creating the "One School, Many Cultures" bulletin board, and facilitating the Sharon Cultural Night. I look forward to working with the parent community to expand on both of these initiatives, and more, in the coming school year!
Alicia Haber, VP Fundraising

My name is Alicia Haber and I will be your VP of Fundraising for PTO in 2018.

This is my first year on the PTO and I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the board. Over the past three years I have served as a room mom, volunteered in the classroom, and also on the Breakfast with Santa committee for the school.

My husband and I have two boys who are rising 1stand 3rdgraders. This year it will be our 4thyear at Sharon Elementary. Our family is extremely grateful to be experiencing another year in the great community and with our incredible school.

Our family loves to travel, vacation with family in Florida, participate in our community sports, exercise, swim, dance, spend time with loved ones, and play with our sweet Morkie named “Lucky”.

I graduated from Florida State University with an English Literature Degree. I taught High School English in an inner-city school for one year. After a challenging experience in teaching, I went on to work as a Technical Sales Representative for a Roofing Manufacturer. My territory covered 8 states in the Southeast which included many days of traveling. My role involved training and leading seminars for contractors in a male dominated industry. After about 8 years in the industry, we decided to move from North Carolina to Georgia! We decided the best decision for our growing family would be for me to become a stay at home mom. This decision to stay at home has included a heighten interest and commitment to becoming more involved in the village that is our community!

I look forward to the upcoming school year as a PTO board member! I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things 2018-2019 have in store for us all. Thank you for this opportunity to serve on the board and give back to the community of Sharon!

Melanie Whipple, Member At Large
My husband, Jeff, and I have four children: a 2nd grader and a 5th grader at Sharon, as well as a 7th and 8th grader who are now at South Forsyth Middle. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was in advertising sales at WTOP News Radio in Washington, DC. We moved to this area in 2005 after our first child was born, and have been part of the Sharon Elementary family for the past nine years. When we aren’t cheering for our kids on the field, the court, or the stage, we love spending time at our “happy place” on Bald Head Island, NC. I’m thankful to be a part of the Sharon community, and I look forward to serving on the PTO board this year!
