As we shift to the different needs brought to us by a global pandemic, now more than ever we need the support of our Sharon community.
Our organization spends, on average, $130+ per student each year and this year it will more than likely increase.
Even if you are a virtual student, we are still spending these dollars on your family. Our PTO spends close to $60,000 each year to provide supplemental curriculum for our school (both in the classroom and online). We will also need to replace several chrome books (chrome books only have a 3 year life cycle) and to attempt to keep our learning environment safe for all, we are fortunate enough to offer a one-to-one student to chrome book ratio. And if you are a virtual student, you get to borrow one to take home.
Currently we are in need of more water filling stations. Our water fountains will not be turned on for the near future, so we have installed two water filling stations (one on the 3rd grade hall and one on the 5th grade hall). We would like to have some installed on the lower level. But we can't do that without our generous parent community. And these water filling stations, chrome books and curriculum supplements are long-term investments in our school and children's education.
Some of the technology and educational resources funded by the PTO (which means our parent community) are: Raz-Kids and iXL, leveled reading materials, maintenance of the D.I.G.S., Science Lab and C.A.S.T.L.E. facilities, and opportunities for our students to blossom socially through our family-centered activities.
Each of these enrichment opportunities, which are so vital to our children's education and help to make Sharon Elementary one of the best schools in the state, are made possible through generous donations from parents like you. Thank you for donating to support these programs.
Thank you for your support!
